TURP Catheters (Trans Urethral Resection of the
Prostate)
Catheters: Dufour, Couvelaire or Mercier, with
50-80ml balloon.
TURP is now the most common surgery used to remove part
of
an enlarged prostate. Open prostatectomies (in
which an
incision is made in the abdomen) are generally
required only
when the prostate is very enlarged. Following
surgery, a
catheter is used to remove blood or blood clots in the
bladder,
which may result from the procedure. When the
urine is free of significant bleeding or blood clots,
the catheter can be removed and the patient can go home.

Temperature Sensor Supra-pubic Catheters
An all-silicone catheter with a straight open tip for
the supra-
pubic drainage of the bladder, and incorporating a
temperature
probe for measuring the core body temperature whilst
urological drainage takes place. The supra-pubic
introduction circumvents the urethra and avoids
infections to a large extent.
Especially suitable for long-term catheterization.
Available as a
stand-alone product or in a puncture or replacement set.

Dynamic Catheters
An all-silicone catheter with 'ribs' on the outer
profile of the
shaft. With this product, catheter lubricity is
increased as the
surface roughness decreases, to ensure maximal ease of
catheter removal. |
